Special cases

(For those blogs put down in 醫學catergory, just a record of myself and not for others reference)

Put down some of the ‘interesting cases’ I met recently:

  1. Young lady presented as rash, fever and confusion

Things get deteriorated rapidly. Found to fit the criteria of SLE with status epilepticus. Read something about cerebral lupus

  1. Young man presented as ascites and derranged LFT

Known history of perianal abscess only. Complained of ascites. Found to have hepatomegaly and cardiomegaly. LFT showed obstructive picture with raised bilirubin. Echocardiogram showed a 6cm mass in RA with no extension to IVC but sluggish flow. EOT done and showed 8cm mass in RA involving the righ atrium sept wall and IVC but not SVC.
