Clinical · 臨床
Twenty years in clinical medicine and endocrinology. The work I treasured most was walking alongisde patients through the course of their illness, whether long or short. Empowering patients was simply the point. I know I tried my best along the way, though I was not always good enough. Over the years I also taught medical students and contributed to intern training and preparation of specialist examinations.
二十年的內科及內分泌科臨床工作。最感恩的是能陪伴病人走過病痛，鼓勵他們正面面對傷痛與不安。未必每次都做得夠好，但大多數時間都盡力了。除了臨床工作, 曾教導醫學生並參與實習醫生的培訓與專科考試的預備工作。
Research · 研究
Witnessing the emergence of new diabetic medicaionts from bench to bedisde convinced me that basic science, though demanidng, carries profound clinial impact. That conviction eventially led me to pursue doctoral research. My research interest lies in molecular endocrinology: the hidden pathways beneath the clinical picture. I work with techniques including qPCR, ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, western blot and immunohistochemistry and start learning dataset analysis.
見證糖尿病新藥從實驗室走向臨床, 促使我起上研究之路。我的研究興趣在分子內分泌學：隱藏在臨床表象之下的運作機制。研究技術包括 qPCR、ChIP-seq、RNA-seq、Western blot與免疫組織化學染色，也開始嘗試資料集分析。
Teaching & Knowledge Dissemination
Alongside my clinical work, teaching has been a constant thread in my life, from bedside tutorials and specialist nurse training to public lectures on common endocrine conditions. I have given invited talks at meetings, contributed to continuing medical education programmes and written for healthcare publications.This blog is a modest extension of that same instinct: making things a little more navigable for anyone willing to read.
臨床工作之外，教學是職業生活裡的一個重要部份: 從臨床教學和專科護士培訓，到公眾講座和醫學會議報告等等。希望這個部落格是較簡易及輕鬆的延續。
Faith & Study · 信仰與學習
Faith has been a quiet constant throughout my life and work. I have been involved in various churhc activities, such as bible studies, missionary trips, bible camps, serving as a tutor in youth fellowship and being on a regional church youth committee. Faith is not a footnote in my life but an anchor for everything else. I am drawn to spirituality and to the way the poeple of faith can live out the identiy of "resident aliens" in the midst of a secular world.
信仰一直是我生命中的重要部分。我參與教會中不同的事奉，如查經班、宣教短宣、聖經營、擔任青年團契的導師，以及在地區青少年部中服事。信仰不是生命的一部分而是生命中一切的錨。我特別被靈修神學以及信仰群體怎樣在世俗中活出「異類僑居者」的身分所吸引。
